Angela Kelly's ornate installation, Splits, will be exhibited at the Worcester Pop-Up from September 1st to September 22nd.
Splits is a soft, delicate, and icy world that is one of many in Kelly's universes. The layout inside Splits suggests a constant invitation towards relaxation and afternoon tea parties. The figures who live here prefer to be woven into the literal cloth of the interiors like a butterfly in a cocoon or a hibernating bear. Alcoves of all sizes are hidden in every entryway imaginable, leading to other lonely rooms that are waiting to be fully observed and absorbed.
Angela Kelly graduated with her BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2019. She is primarily a fiber artist and painter. Kelly explores her idea of comforting dream worlds, transit, and pilgrimages through her craft.
Immerse yourself in Splits, the first full-fledged interior installation made by Kelly. Select work will be for sale by the artist to support the exhibition.
