Worcester State’s Visual and Performing Arts Department brings this “pair of star-crossed lovers" to the stage as the two find each other against a backdrop of strife that pits neighbor against neighbor in one of the world's greatest romantic stories.
“The clash between the houses of Montague and Capulet reflect the political and moral ethical clashes happening in the United States today,” said Adam Zahler, director. “By staging this time-honored play in a modern setting, we see how the arts reflect humanity, even through time.”
The production runs Nov. 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available through VPABoxOffice@worcester.edu, (508) 929-8843 or at the door. Tickets cost $14 general public, $10 senior citizens and $7 students.
