The Hotel Vernon was built in 1901 on what was then called Vernon Square. The hotel and its bar was the sort of place where regular people in the neighborhood could in come and feel comfortable, as well as special visitors such as Babe Ruth. Hotel Vernon and its history-seeped bars have a nautical, tall sailor’s tale aspect about them.
